Karis Ruth-Carolyn was born on May 14th at 8:09 a.m. She was 8 pounds 7 ounces and 20 inches long. I had a scheduled C-section and everything went great! I switched hospitals and doctors from when I had Cody and enjoyed this experience so much better! Although C-section wasn't my preferred method of delivery (for both our kids) we are thankful for a healthy daughter!
Meeting Karis for the first time!
Getting her first bath...
Settled into our room and really getting to "study" her.
Cody meeting his sister. He made her a Build-a-bear and brought it to her in the hospital. He wasn't interested in holding her and was more concerned with me being in a hospital bed but herwas still sweet and curious looking at her while my mom was holding her.
Aunt Kristin and cousin Parker came to Dallas from Austin to meet Karis. Parker wanted to kiss and hold her and was so excited to have a new cousin!
Uncle Clay came too but for some reason we don't have a picture of him holding his niece.
The boys were so patient while at the hospital and had movies on the ipad to entertain them.
Bubbie meeting her granddaughter and namesake! (My moms name is Carolyn)
Our sweet baby girl!
Snuggles with daddy! She is one blessed girl to have Jason for a daddy.
Since I had a C-section I got an extra night in the hospital. My mom (and sister, brother and nephew) stayed with Cody during my hospital stay but on the 3rd night Cody was really missing us so Jason went home to be with him and I enjoyed my night with Karis. I was feeling good and actually really enjoyed the quiet time in the hospital just snuggling my baby.
And this was Cody's face in the morning when he and Jason came to bring me and Karis home. He really did not like me being in the hospital and was worried about me.
Doing his happy dance around the room.
Ready to bring his sister home....
All ready to go!
