When we were pregnant with Cody we picked Bubbie as the grandmother name for my mom. It's Jewish for grandmother and I liked that it was different and it fits her perfectly. I love it! I thought it was fun when I found this shirt for Karis, especially since one of her middle names is Carolyn after my mom!

Christmas in Oregon in January
We went to visit Jason's parents in Oregon in January since the cost of plane tickets were so much cheaper! Cody and Jason sat behind me and Karis on the flight. Cody is an awesome traveler and Karis did as well as a baby does on her first flight. We spent the extra money to get her a seat and it made it so much easier.
When she got a little restless I used the iPad and blues clues to distract her since Cody had fallen asleep. Other than crying herself to sleep from exhaustion at one point she was good.
Of course, the very first thing we did when we got to Grandpa and Grandma's house was open Christmas gifts.
We spent one day driving to the coast so that Cody could play in the sand and see the ocean. He hasn't ever been to the ocean and after doing a lesson at his preschool on the beach and ocean animals he has been asking to go. Nothing like his first beach experience to be 50 degrees and drizzly rain. He had a blast though and we can't wait to take him again in the summertime. Karis got all bundled up to watch him play! I can't get over how cute the little boots are that my mom found for her!
Sometimes she just refuses to smile!
He LOVED every minute!
She wasn't too crazy about being bundled up and confined to her stroller but still watched her brother work hard on his sand castle.
We got to spend a whole day playing with cousins. He LOVES Lucy and Avery and wishes they lived in Texas.
I never got a picture of them in their matching jammies on Christmas so I made sure to get one in Oregon in front of Grandma and Grandpa's tree.
We did a lot of fun things while in Oregon including going on a carousel ride in Salem. He rode the horses but also loved sitting in the covered wagon.
Randy and Diane (Grandma and Grandpa) spoil all of us when we go to visit and we are blessed to be able to make memories with them.
Our Family Christmas!
1st Christmas with this sweet girl!
Cody had his heart set on this train table since last July. He has asked and begged and went to look at it at Toys R Us for months. He told everyone that this is what he was getting for Christmas...so of course, we didn't disappoint. We stayed up late on Christmas Eve building it so it would be a fun surprise on Christmas morning. And Karis loves playing with her little walker toy.
They tree all ready for Christmas morning.
One happy little boy!!!
Bubbie, Parker, Kristin and Clay joined us for Christmas dinner and gifts. The boys were excited they each had a big gift from Bubbie.
Baby's 1st Christmas!
My mom had taken Cody to Austin for Parker's birthday party and while he was gone we wrapped all the gifts. He was so excited when he got home and sweetly asked if he could open one gift before Christmas and we gave in. It was fun watching him get excited when we said yes...I don't think he was expecting that answer.
Karis helped us wrap!
What a fun Christmas we had this year spending time at home and enjoying our kids!
December Fun
Cody was so much fun helping us decorate the tree this year! All the ornaments he hung were all clumped together in one spot and it made me happy every time I looked at them.
I love that we have a new member of our family this Christmas!! Our sweet baby girl's first Christmas.
Karis loved to sit and watch the train go around the tree.
And play with ornaments...
Northpark mall has always been our favorite at Christmas time. It's a tradition for us to go see the trains and scrooge and this year we went 3 times.
Cody loved to get the toy magazines in the mail and circle his "wish list". He was so funny...when I told him he wouldn't get everything on his list he started saying "can I put this on my list for NEXT Christmas?" We thought it was sweet that he even circled things he thought Karis would want.
Making Christmas Cookies
We enjoyed his little Christmas musical at his preschool. He gets so shy up on stage but is so proud when he is finished. He always asks us "did I do good".
This is Benji! My mom took Parker and Cody to Build-a-Bear as part of their Christmas and Cody wanted a dog and picked out his name all on his own.
