Cody's Big Boy Activities

Going down the stairs! He has no fear and wants to stand and go....yikes!
Eating with a Fork!....he taught himself this and just one day did it. Eating with a spoon!...he taught himself how to do this too! Playing in the Mall Playground!
Getting his own sonic apple juice...the juice in the sippy cup and the sonic cup is entertainment. He could sip the juice from the straw/cup but he likes to take the lid off and laugh as he puts his hand inside and plays with the liquid.
Riding rides at LaHacienda...our favorite mexican food restaurant.
Eating ice cream cones...so far he doesn't know there is supposed to be ice cream in the cone.
Drinking a smoothie for breakfast like momma and daddy.
Drinking from a juice box.

Look at our Little Man

Doesn't he look like such a toddler in this picture? He is 14.5 months and changing everyday!

Climbing

Cody's newest trick is climbing! He hikes his leg up and tries to climb on top of anything and most of the time accomplishes his task. His either just falls forward when he wants down (which is ok when he's low to the ground) or turns around and slides off on his belly and stretches his feet until they touch the ground. If he's standing and decides he's done he will just plop to his bottom and take off crawling. He climbs and plays on this chair all day long. He smiles big and it's like he knows its just his size. I think he got cold....this didn't last long. His cabinet in the kitchen is now like a little clubhouse. The shelf was in his way so I took it out and he climbs in there and plays.
Cody loves to "help" load/unload the dishwasher. I walked to get the degerent and came back to find this.
He found this shelf in our bathroom cabinet and carried it around the house all day climbing on and off.

He's Cruising!

Cody can pull up on anyway whether its our legs, holding on to a toy or furniture or even just the wall. He can balance by himself and take a step or two and then just lunges to his destination. He loves pushing this truck around...a fun birthday gift from Khaki (Kathy is a special lady that works with Jason and loves us and Cody like her own children/grandchildren). It won't be long before we have an independent walker on our hands.

July Favorites!

I love that you can see Cody's little curl in this picture.
He loves playing on the couch and chair.
And has finally learned how to slide off but still doesn't always know where the edge is.
Cody is so sweet and such a chatterbox.
He stands holding the back and then lets go and plops to his bottom and laughs.
What a little man!
Killer eyes!
Silly Grin!
So Serious. He loves anything that stacks.
And sits contentedly playing with the play food Sarah gave him.
Begging me to open the cheese puff in Target. I gave in this time but trying to not get in the habit of that. I have to hide the bag now when I buy them. If he sees the bag, even on the shelf, it's not a pleasant scene. These are his favorite snack and we have to limit him or he'd eat them all day every day. It's now a special treat!
Enjoying the ball from Bubbie.
Cody loves cups and will put things in and take things out all day long.

His new pastime: Climbing the Stairs

Cody learned to climb the stairs on his 1st Birthday! Since then he has mastered going up the stairs. He loves it! He gets so excited especially when he realizes you are behind him. Then he thinks your chasing him and about to "get him". If Jason and I are both home one of us will go to the top and one of us stays behind Cody and that becomes a fun game. At the top of the stairs he squeals with excitement. We are teaching him how to go down but still have awhile until he's ready.
