Me and my baby girl!

I still can't believe I have a daughter! She is the sweetest and I didn't know it was possible for my heart to be stolen twice.

Bubbie Camp

Parker came to spend the week with my mom and so Cody got to join in on the fun!
Bubbie had something fun planned for them to do everyday. They had fun starting the week off playing with this big ball.  There is a hole for one boy to get inside while being rolled around the yard. So much fun!!
Then they went to Lego Land!
Parker wasn't old enough to drive a car but Cody sure had fun!
Then they visited the aquarium ...
and she bought them each a shark!
I tagged along one afternoon and we road the carousel. I spun them in the teacup so fast they couldn't move...we were all laughing so hard!
We had dinner with Uncle Clay!
They spent the day at Fossil Rim Park in Glen Rose with Dick and Karen, friends of my moms who volunteer at the park.  The boys called him Cowboy Dick and they got a "personal" tour of the park riding around with them.  Cody still talks about his time with them and how much fun they had!
This is how they got to view and feed the animals!
Petting Zoo!
Cowboy Dick has a horse named Buddy...
...that they got to ride!

The horse gave Cody a kiss on the head.
On the last day I took the boys and my mom kept Karis.  We went to the athletic center and played in the water park. This is one of Cody's favorite places and we were so excited to take Parker!
I'm brave but not brave enough to take two boys learning to swim in the lazy river without their life jackets. We all had more fun this way...despite a little protest.
Shaved ice!
All 3 grandchildren! Even though Karis never went swimming this summer (because she can't wear sunscreen until 6 months) I had to put her suit on for a picture with the boys.
What a fun week!!  Thank you, Bubbie, for making memories with the boys! The only regret is somehow we don't have a picture of YOU with them!

Sweet Girl

Karis is learning to enjoy sitting in the bumbo.  She is just now able to hold her neck up for longer periods of time. This was Cody's favorite place to be and I'm hoping she likes it as much as he did.  We were making cookies the other day and she sat here and watched everything we did! She is already 3 1/2 months!
As long as she can see one of us she is happy! She has started to light up when she sees Cody and he talks to her so sweetly. It melts my heart to see him love her!
She loves her baths and is so relaxed and super snuggly after!

Big Boy

We had so much fun watching the arrival of the Union Pacific "Big Boy" locomotive to our city last Sunday! It is one of 25 trains like this that were built in the 1940's. There is a small museum here now that Cody enjoys to look at and eventually there will be a big museum.  He waited patiently for an hour for the train to pull up! He asks often if we can go see the trains on "our tracks"!
 It arrived!!
He got to walk on the tracks and around the trains! Usually there is a fence and we can't get this close but since Big Boy arrived they had it open to walk around for a short time!
 One big train!
He even made the Dallas Morning Newspaper!

Karis' Birth Day!

Karis Ruth-Carolyn was born on May 14th at 8:09 a.m. She was 8 pounds 7 ounces and 20 inches long. I had a scheduled C-section and everything went great! I switched hospitals and doctors from when I had Cody and enjoyed this experience so much better! Although C-section wasn't my preferred method of delivery (for both our kids) we are thankful for a healthy daughter!
Meeting Karis for the first time!
Getting her first bath...
Settled into our room and really getting to "study" her.
Cody meeting his sister. He made her a Build-a-bear and brought it to her in the hospital. He wasn't interested in holding her and was more concerned with me being in a hospital bed but herwas still sweet and curious looking at her while my mom was holding her.
Aunt Kristin and cousin Parker came to Dallas from Austin to meet Karis.  Parker wanted to kiss and hold her and was so excited to have a new cousin!
Uncle Clay came too but for some reason we don't have a picture of him holding his niece.
The boys were so patient while at the hospital and had movies on the ipad to entertain them.
Bubbie meeting her granddaughter and namesake! (My moms name is Carolyn)
Our sweet baby girl!
Snuggles with daddy!  She is one blessed girl to have Jason for a daddy.
Since I had a C-section I got an extra night in the hospital. My mom (and sister, brother and nephew) stayed with Cody during my hospital stay but on the 3rd night Cody was really missing us so Jason went home to be with him and I enjoyed my night with Karis. I was feeling good and actually really enjoyed the quiet time in the hospital just snuggling my baby.
And this was Cody's face in the morning when he and Jason came to bring me and Karis home.  He really did not like me being in the hospital and was worried about me.
Doing his happy dance around the room.
Ready to bring his sister home....
All ready to go!
