Our Little Elf

We decorated the week before Thanksgiving since we were going to be in Oregon for Thanksgiving.  It was so nice to come home and the house was all ready for Christmas! Cody really got in to helping us decorate and was a great little helper!

Christmastime Fun

We went to "Merry Main Street" and watched them light the Christmas tree and see fireworks.  I think our whole city was there. It was very crowded but a fun way to start off the season.  We went with our friends, the Balls, and our new neighbors, the Applegates! After the fireworks we split up into families and did our own thing because it was too crowded to stay together as a large group.  We found the fire truck and Cody was able to go inside it and put on the hat! He was so excited!
We continued our yearly tradition of going to Northpark mall and enjoying the decorations there but mostly we went to see the train exhibit! This was the first year he enjoyed watching Scrooge and laugh with the other kids. I remember watching Scrooge as a little girl!
The trains at Northpark are so much fun to watch! He was beside himself with excitement and not too happy I kept making him smile for pictures.
His little preschool class put on a musical. Of course, they were adorable!
At the very beginning of the season we pulled out this singing santa. It was the first decoration we got out because he started begging for one in the stores forgetting we already had one. It's loud but he loves it!

Oregon Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving week in Oregon!  Cody loved getting to see his Grandpa and Grandma and cousins. It was a rainy week and he didn't get outside much but the highlight of his week was getting to pick apples and feed them to the cows at Uncle Darrel and Aunt Darby's house.
Apples picked and we are loaded up and ready to go find the cows!

His sweet cousins Avery and Lucy! After Thanksgiving dinner was over Grandma announced it was officially Christmas and gave the kids their gifts! They loved it!

Cody...

Learning how to do a headstand after seeing someone do it on TV.
The first picture he made that actually looks like what it's supposed to be: a rainbow! He did it all by himself.  The blue at the bottom says: "daddy".
Just chilling.  He doesn't sit still like this for long....
Jason took Cody to 6 flags with the high schoolers while I attended a wedding shower.  They had fun together and we had one tired little boy!
He loves to go down the poles at playgrounds and pretend to be a fireman!

Tow Truck

Cody drives one of these two cars around all the time.  If he goes from room to room he parks it and gets back in it when he's ready to go to another location.  When he goes upstairs he parks it at the bottom of the stairs to be waiting for him when he comes back down. The blue truck is by far is favorite and most days its a tow truck.  Jason rigged this rope to be able to pull the red car behind it.  Cody always always has something on top or in the truck that he is transporting. Oh, and if you are in his way, he will honk the horn until you move!

Big Orange Pumpkin Farm

Cody and I took Kristin and Parker to our favorite Pumpkin Patch while they were in town visiting!
They loved feeding the animals!
They are at such a fun age and Cody loves to spend time with his cousin!
They got to ride this tractor ride around the farm all by themselves and had ear to ear smiles the whole time!

They were gone about 10 minutes and when they returned they still had huge smiles and told us all about the bumps, and how fast they went, etc.
Getting them to both look at the camera at the same time is impossible!
My lovely sister and her cute boy!

Happy Halloween

Cody has never liked getting dressed up or costumes.  He loves to look at other kids but is not interested in it himself.  He has a fascination with policemen and loves to watch them direct traffic.  So one day I asked him if he wanted to try and be a policeman for Halloween. He was excited and talked about it ever since.  I thought maybe if I found a costume that was easy and he could wear normal clothes he would do it.  NOPE...this picture was taken just before going to the fall festival at our church and we didn't make it inside the church before the jacket came off.  He does like the hat and the accessories but no interest in wearing the costume as a whole outfit.  Oh well....he is still super cute when he puts his hands out to direct traffic and copy the policemen.
We spent our time at the fall festival with his buddy Grayson (and Hudson and Jackson).  I thought for sure since Grayson was a policemen too he would change his mind.  Nope...but he did enjoy hanging out with the boys and Miss Sarah!
So, I asked him if he wanted to go trick or treating and he said "no, mom, I just want to stay home and give candy to the kids that come to our house."  Getting dressed up for candy (which he isn't that interested in) just isn't his thing!

Big Boy Bed

Just like Cody one day decided he was done with his crib...one day he decided he was done with his toddler bed and kept wanting to sleep in our guest room.  So we turned his toddler bed into a big boy bed! His crib converted all the way to a full size bed and he loves it! We still aren't 100%  satisfied with the bedding situation but for now it works great!
